The NBA officially announced that Carmelo Anthony of the New York Knicks and James Harden of the Houston Rockets were respectively named the best players in the East and West last week.This is Harden’s second consecutive week and was named the best in Western Week. This is the second time Anthony has been elected the best in Eastern Week this season.  The Anthony Knicks have scored 3 wins and 1 loss in the past week. He averaged 29 points (3rd in the East) and 5 per game.3 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 2.75 steals (5th in the East).Anthony averaged 4th in playing time per game, reaching 38.7 minutes.In all four games, he scored at least three three-pointers in each game. In the 118-106 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on March 5, Anthony scored 33 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 3Steals.  Harden scored 4-0 against the Rockets this past week, including defeating the Miami Heat, Indiana Pacers and Portland Trail Blazers.He averaged 30 per game.3 points (2nd in the league), 6.8 assists (7th in the West) and 2.5 steals (ranked 3rd in the West).Harden was elected Western Conference Player of the Week for the second consecutive week. He scored 41 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals in the 118-113 victory over the Trail Blazers on March 9.The following are the excellent performances of Anthony and Harden in the past week: Anthony, New York Knicks March 5, guest Minnesota Timberwolves: 33 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals, the Knicks118-106 victory over the Timberwolves.  On March 7, the Utah Jazz: 29 points, 8 assists and 4 rebounds. The Knicks defeated the Jazz 108-81.  On March 8, the guest challenged the Cleveland Cavaliers: 26 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks. The Knicks defeated the Cavaliers 107-97.Harden, Houston Rockets March 4, vs. Miami Heat: With 21 points, 11 assists and 4 rebounds, the Rockets beat the Heat 106-103.  March 7th, vs. Indiana Pacers: 28 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals. The Rockets beat the Pacers 112-86.  On March 9, the Portland Trail Blazers faced the game: with 41 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals, the Rockets defeated the Trail Blazers 118-113, and they ended a perfect week.
